The YMCA of Timmins Camps provides children, teens and young adults with the opportunity to connect and engage with nature and each other in ways that build confidence, improve social skills, and foster independence and leadership – all while having fun. In addition to customized programming, all the YMCA of Timmins Camps share a focus on healthy, active living. For many Canadians, time spent at the YMCA of Timmins Camp is a treasured childhood memory, an experience that had a positive and lasting impact on their lives. We excel at providing young people with the opportunities to have fun and develop lifelong skills while realizing the best in themselves and others. As Canada’s largest Camp provider, we work with parents and community partners locally and notionally to offer outstanding life development experiences for more then 125,000 children each year. The YMCA of Timmins offers March Break, Summer Camp; Christmas Camp.
Timmins Family YMCA Summer Day Camps are the perfect place for kids to be kids. We have many exciting and adventurous activities planned. Campers will enjoy games, sports, arts and crafts, outdoor play and much more. Field trips, special guests and special theme days are also part of your child’s camp experience. We are proud of our high quality program that will encourage children to develop spirit, mind and body. Parents and guardians can go to work feeling comfortable that their child is safe and having fun during their summer vacation.
This year we will not have any short form registrations for our current clients. It has been some time since forms have been filled out and in order to ensure all information is up to date we require everyone that fill out the same registration forms.
Please note there are a few different types of forms that need to be filled out, please ensure you are filling out the proper forms.
If your child has a special need or diagnosis, after the Summer Camp Registration form has been filled out, you must then complete the Integrated Program Camper Form (even if your child has attended the YMCA of Timmins Summer Camp in previous years, lots can change in a years time!). After these two forms have been filled out and brought to our Main office, the Community Programs Coordinator along with a team of staff will decide whether or not we have the resources for your child to partake in our program. We may also ask to set up a meeting with yourself and your child/children to ensure we have all the information and details we need.

At YMCA Day Camp, value beads play an important role as a sign of character and personal achievement. As an important form of recognition, beads at camp promote positive behavior, and are worn as a constant reminder of what we value as a camp community. Throughout the week, beads are awarded to individuals for demonstrating YMCA core values and achieving success in specific programs areas:
Value Beads: Value Beads are awarded for demonstrating and adopting the six YMCA core values: Respect (Red): Recognizing and protecting the inherent worth of every person, including oneself. Health (Blue): Being committed to physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual development. Honesty (Purple): Demonstrating integrity and trustworthiness. Inclusiveness (Yellow): Appreciating diversity. Striving to be open to all. Seeking to understand differences and find common ground. Caring (Green): Acting with compassion and concern for the well-being of others. Responsibility (Orange): Being dependable and accountable for choices, actions and commitments.
Earning Beads At the beginning of the week, as part of opening circle on the first day, each campers will receive a necklace or bracelet with a white bead representing friendship. Throughout the week, camper will be presented with opportunities to earn beads. This can be achieved through participation in each program area and by demonstrating each of the six core values. Beads are awarded at the end of the everyday as part of closing circle. click here to download a Bead Tracking Chart.

Christmas Camp runs the same time as the school board Christmas break does. We provide children with an active routine that involves gym time, outdoor games, arts and crafts, snow sculptures, treasure hunts, movies, science experiments, and a Christmas and New Years party.
Registration for camp open Monday November 18, 2019.
Christmas camp runs from 7:30 in the morning to 5:30 in the evening, but children can be dropped off and picked up whenever is most convenient for parents during those hours.
Snacks and lunches will not be provided so we encourage parents to pack nutritious meals for children.
A reminder that on December 24 and December 31 we close at 3:00 pm to allow everyone to spend a little extra time with their families for the holidays. We are also closed December 25, 26 and January 1.
Partners for Play! Let’s Put Play in Your Day!
MobYle is a fun and free organized physical activity program to be implemented in parks throughout each ward in Timmins. Through fun and challenging games and activities run by our MobYle staff, children visiting selected parks will have a chance to engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity in a safe and structured way.
YMCA MobYle is a program made possible by the cooperative effort of the YMCA of Timmins, the City of Timmins and the Porcupine Health Unit. During the months of July and August, our MobYle team will be visiting selected parks in Timmins (see our schedule for locations).
It is our belief that parks are a hub for physical activity and healthy social interaction but are often not utilized to their full potential. Children are becoming increasingly less physically active and need to become more motivated to live a physically active lifestyle. Through the MobYle program we hope to provide an active living solution to the children in our community and raise awareness about the benefits of living a healthy, active lifestyle. By taking part in the YMCA’s MobYle program, children can learn to live healthy through active living.
